Pastor Chris
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding (Proverbs 15:32).
The only material that God gave to build
your spirit is His Word, through the power of the Holy Spirit. There’s
no hope for the one who ignores God’s Word. The Bible says "Whoso
despiseth the word shall be destroyed..." (Proverbs 13:13). As a child
of God you must always open your heart to the Word and receive it into
your spirit with faith, gladness and meekness: "Wherefore lay apart all
filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the
engrafted word, which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21). This
verse doesn’t refer to the salvation from sin nor bringing you afresh
into salvation. Rather, it refers to the preservation of the salvation
of the human soul—the outworking of salvation in the human soul.
When
you have the opportunity to hear and receive God’s Word, go for it
voraciously and apply it to your personal life. Acting on the Word is
the only way to effect kingdom realities in your personal life and live
from glory to glory. You have to make the effort to act on God’s Word.
Don’t ignore the Word; use it for your benefit. The blessings in the
Word of God are for the doers of the Word (James 1:25).
There are
those who ignorantly act in worldly wisdom; and the wisdom of this world
is foolishness before God. Acting on the Word, on the other hand, is
functioning in divine wisdom. The Word of God is the wisdom of God, and
wisdom is what you need for success and excellence in life: "Wisdom is
the principal thing; therefore get wisdom…" (Proverbs 4:7). Open your
spirit to the Word at all times and act on the information, guidance,
and counsel you receive from the Lord today.
Prayer
Dear
heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word is my life! I’m blessed in
all endeavours and prosper exceedingly today because I live by your
Word. Your Word is growing mightily and prevailing in my life, against
every adversity, as I yield to the Lordship of the Word, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
