Set Your Affection On The Lord! · Thursday, September 27th · Pastor Anita

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1).

Pastor AnitaGod desires to have your attention. He knows if He has your attention, He can lead and guide you in the destiny He’s planned for you. He knows what’s best for you, and what your life should be. There’s therefore nothing for you to worry over, except to live confidently and joyfully everyday, knowing He’s with you, in you, and for you. He has everything it takes to bring you into the inheritance and destiny He’s ordained for you.
Realize that the Lord is your exceeding great reward. To have Him is to have everything. All you need in life is Christ. By that, I mean He’s your satisfaction. In Genesis 15:1, the Lord said to Abraham, "...I’m your shield and your exceeding great reward." That means "I’m all you need; in me, you have everything!"
This is the reason you must not allow anything distract or take your focus away from serving the Lord as you should. Set your affection on Him and on the things He cares about. Be a soul winner. Remember, you’re not of this world, therefore, your affection shouldn’t be on the things of this world: "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3:1-2).
All that you are, and all that you have, are in Him. He’s your reason for being. Trust Him with your life and He’ll order your steps and direct the affairs of your life to be in sync with His perfect will for you.
Prayer
Blessed be God, in whom I live, and move, and have my being. How I love and appreciate you today, righteous Father! I live for you alone, and rejoice that I belong to you, to fulfil all the good pleasure of your goodness, and the work of faith with power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
