Every Good Thing In You!

“for it is God who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you the power and desire) both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight” (Phil 2:13).
Paul said in Romans 7:18 (Amp) “for I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I can not perform it. i.e., I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out).” Without the help of the Holy Spirit we can not live the God-pleasing life in this world! He is the One who prepares you everyday to be a temple of God and a house of worship, One who guides you into all Truth; and communicate the thoughts of God in us and enable us to enjoy the reality of God’s presence in us! We have nothing good dwell in our flesh! We have good intentions but no power to perform it! Therefore, guess where did you get that strength to forgive that person who wronged you? Where did those merciful and noble thoughts came from? Have you ever thought about it? Have you ever realized the work of the Holy Spirit in you? Have you ever appreciated His work in you?
Many do good deeds and boast and brag that ‘I did this and that to that person’! have you ever expected others to do in return for what you did to them? May be when you are in trouble or in difficulty have you ever expected these people whom you helped to show up to take care of the need of yours? And if they didn’t show up, how did you responded to them? Do you regret for what you did to them? Or self-pity rise up within you? We take the credit of the work of the Holy Spirit in us and forget to appreciate Him. Remember, “it is God who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you the power and desire) both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
Every merciful thought, noble thought, forgiving and compassionate thoughts are the outcome of His divine power working in us! We are merely instruments of righteousness yielding to the Holy Spirit lives in us! However, you may think how about those people in the world? They are not believing in the Living God, how come they are giving alms and doing good deeds? When God created man, He created in His own image. And He gave him gifts and talents. It was sin that separated man from God! God never took back those gifts and talents from mankind at all! Enjoying the good things of God they give glory to the gods of this world or glorify their “self” as their own God and not to the One who gave them. “Every good and perfect gift and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all light, in whom there can be no variation” (James 1:17). Oh! The depth of His grace! “for God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. (He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those whom He gives His grace or to whom He send His call” (Rom 11:29) (Amp).
“I am the Lord; that is My name! and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images”(Isa 42:8). Give glory, honor and praise due to our God! Take a moment, and appreciate the Holy Spirit! You have a blessed day!
