‘For we walk
by faith and not by sight’
(2 Cor 5:7).
Christian
life is a life of faith. A Christian is
not asked to live by his feelings. Faith is a spirit. It is written in 2 Cor 4:13 –
‘yet
we have the same spirit of faith..’ Faith works in the realm of the spirit. We are
born of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God (1 Pet 1:23). Our spirit is re-generated and not our
mind. That is why Paul wrote in his
epistle Rom 12:2 –‘do not conformed to the superficial customs of this world, but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind by its new ideals and its new attitude),
so that you may prove for yourself what
is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God for you.’ God’s Word gives us a mindset – mind-set of
the righteous. God’s Word change our way
of thinking and attitudes. God’s Word is
the ‘divine material’ not only
transforms us but also bring faith to our spirit.
Don’t
try to live your spiritual life by your sensory perceptions or by your feelings. Don’t rely on your own understanding too (Prov 3:5,6). We have the new indwelling Teacher – The Holy
Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who guide you into all Truth. He is concerned about every detail of our
life. Stop struggling and start trusting
the True Guide within us. Jesus referred to Him before his death in John 14:26
says, ‘but the Comforter, The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My
name will teach you all things. And He
will cause you to recall everything I (Jesus Christ) have told you.’
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father I thank You for the Holy
Spirit, the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener,
Standby One. Teach me to walk by faith
and lead me by Your Spirit. In Jesus’
name Amen.
