Pastor Chris
But of him are ye in Christ
Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and
sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Righteousness is the nature of God that’s imparted to the human spirit,
producing in him the rightness of God and the ability to do right and fulfil
the will of the Father. God is always right; that’s His nature, and He has
produced that same nature in us. You don’t have to read the entire Book of the
Law and its ordinances to know what’s right or wrong: the righteousness of God
has been imparted to your spirit.
In the days of Moses, the Israelites had to read the Law to know right
or wrong; but that’s not for the new creation in Christ! In Jeremiah 31:33, the
Lord said, "…I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in
their hearts…." This is what has happened: righteousness is now in your
spirit. Romans 8:3-4 tells us, "For what the law could not do, in that it
was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful
flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the
law might be fulfilled in us…."
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has produced righteousness
in your spirit. No wonder Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the
world..." (Matthew 5:14); you can decide what is right. The people of
the world are to look at you, and know what rightness is. You’re not only a
partaker, but the expression of His righteousness. Isaiah 61:3 calls us trees
of righteousness; the planting of the Lord of Hosts, that He might be
glorified. Therefore, you bear fruits of righteousness (Philippians 1:11).
Let righteousness reign through you; give expression to God’s best in
your life. Decide that the life of Christ will be expressed through you fully,
and that you’ll be effective in propagating the Gospel. Make up your mind on
it, and it shall be so.
Confession I give expression to the life of
Christ and His nature of righteousness in me today, functioning with precision
and wisdom in all I do. I live continually in the light of God’s Word: in the
light of my righteousness in Him, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
