And
that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto
themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthians
5:15).
It’s God’s will for you
to have a beautiful life, with all your needs met, and everything working out
excellently: your business prospering, you and the members of your family in
good health, etc. But you must realize that as wonderful as that might be,
that’s not all there is to Christianity. Part of the reason God has blessed and
prospered you is so that you can make positive impact in the lives of others.
The ministry of the Holy
Spirit, and of the Word of God in your life, isn’t restricted to you alone. He
seeks to beautify the lives of those around you through you; that’s living for
His glory; that’s a purposeful life. You must be able to influence your world
positively and help somebody else become better through the power of God that
works in you.
If you truly believe
that Jesus died to save you, then you must continuously live your life for His
glory by leading others to Christ, even if you’re persecuted for so doing. Paul
faced greater persecution for the Gospel than any other apostle did in his day,
yet he said, "...none of these things move
me..." (Acts 20:24). It doesn’t matter how fruitful or
effective you might have been in other areas of your life, you must seek
to excel in soul winning too, for you’re a co-labourer with the Lord (2
Corinthians 6:1). You’re His partner in taking the Gospel to the lost,
hopeless, hurting, and downtrodden in the world.
This is a primary
responsibility for you as a Christian. From the day you confessed the Lordship
of Jesus, you ceased to live for yourself, but unto Him that bought you with a
price. Your major preoccupation therefore, should be to fulfil His will, and
bring Him glory at all times.
Prayer Dear
Father, I thank you for giving me the opportunity and ability to influence
those in my sphere of contact with the power of the Spirit. I thank you for
your blessings and extraordinary provisions in my life. I live to honour you
alone, by dedicating my whole life to the expansion of your kingdom, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.
