Pastor
Chris
That
the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of
every good thing, which is in you in Christ Jesus (Philemon 1:6).
God doesn’t want you
handicapped or hamstrung, expecting that "whatever will be, will be"
or that whatever God finds fit to do, He’ll do; rather, He wants you to
acknowledge and play your role. We find an example of this with Moses when He
and the children of Israel were before the Red Sea, being pursued by the fierce
and hostile armies of Egypt. Moses thought the best he could do was to pray and
call out to the Lord for help, but read the Lord’s response: "And the LORD
said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of
Israel, that they go forward:" (Exodus 14:15).
Obviously, the Lord
expected Moses to have done something. He then instructed him, saying,
"…stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it…." (Exodus
14:16). Note that the Lord didn’t say, "Moses, pray that I may divide the
sea"; rather, He instructed him to do a most remarkable thing, saying,
"Moses, you stretch your hand over the sea and divide it!" Moses did
as he was instructed and the Lord caused a strong wind to come through the
waters that parted it both ways. That was an act of divine power, but Moses had
something to do with it. He stretched forth his hand in response to God’s Word,
and the power of God was activated.
One way God expects you
to be active in the divine experience is in the preaching of the Gospel. As you
preach the Word, you take your place as a bearer of eternal verities, for you
propagate the words from our heavenly Kingdom. Thus, the power of God is
released to save, heal, and deliver.
Prayer Dear
Father, I declare that by the power of your Spirit working in me I’m effective
and fruitful in every good work today, bearing fruits unto righteousness, in
the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
