For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4).
Hebrews 11:1 defines
faith as "…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen." Faith is the evidence of that which is unseen, unknown, and
imperceptible to, and by the natural mind. The way to relate with the unseen
realities of our eternal Kingdom is by faith. Notice that faith is defined as
"…the substance of things hoped for…," not "the imagination of
things hoped for."
In the arena of faith,
you’re not trying or hoping to get anything; rather, you’re a possessor; a
master over circumstances. Consider Jesus, and the way He lived and related in
this world: He walked in absolute victory, mastery, and dominion! Once the
storm arose against Him and His disciples as they journeyed in a boat. While
the disciples screamed in fear, Jesus simply rebuked the billowing storm. His
disciples, in absolute awe, said to one another, "…What manner of man is
this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" (Mark 4:41).
Matthew 14 also shows
that He walked on water as though on dry ground; He transcended natural laws.
He functioned from a higher realm—the faith realm. Emulate Jesus. He was so
different. His language was that of a victor. He had everything in control; and
that’s the life He wants us to live; a life where you reign as a king, and
you’re at rest in the midst of turmoil.
Prayer
Dear heavenly
Father, I live in absolute mastery because my faith is the victory that
overcomes the world. I relinquish my care and worries unto you, for I’m
convinced you’re able to do exceedingly above what I could ever ask or think,
in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
