And
thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6:5).
Now that you’re in
Christ, He is all you need; therefore let Him be your focus. Love Him with all
your heart; let His love dominate your thoughts, desires, pursuits, plans, and
purposes. It’s important that He’s the central focus of your actions, for
nothing else really matters. By virtue of what He’s done for you, He deserves
your all.
Think about it: He took
your place of sin, and was condemned, so that you might become the
righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). In John 10:10, He declared
that the reason He came was that we may have the God-life to the full. How we
need to love and trust Him, for He’s the "author and finisher of our faith."
The Bible says that for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the Cross,
despising the shame (Hebrews 12:2).
What was that joy that
was set before Him, for which He endured the Cross? It’s the glorious life that
we now have in Him. 1 Peter 1:11 talks about the sufferings of Christ and the
glory that should follow. Hebrews 2:10 says, "For it became him, for whom
are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory,
to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings." He’s
made us partakers of His glory (John 17:22), and bearers of His Name.
Everything that belongs to Him belongs to you.
Just as He’s been
appointed by the Father to be the heir of all things (Hebrews 1:2), you also
have become the heir of all things, for you’re a joint heir with Him (Romans
8:17). 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, "Therefore let no man glory in men. For
all things are yours." In Christ, you have all things; therefore, love Him
with all your heart; worship Him in Spirit and in truth, and serve Him with
wholehearted devotion.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, how I
love and adore you! You’ve given me an incorruptible inheritance, and a
glorious life in you, and I’m grateful! In you, I’ve found everything: joy,
satisfaction, peace and security. It’s my desire to love and know you more each
day. Amen.
