Pastor Chris
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
There’s no reason for any Christian to be afraid of the devil, for he’s already defeated! In Matthew 28:18, Jesus said, "...All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." Notice He said "all power"; not "some power," meaning there’s none left for Satan. He’s been completely paralyzed and rendered helpless by Jesus. The reason some people still live in fear of Satan, and what they believe he can do against them, is their ignorance of the Scriptures. They unwittingly arrogate too much power to the devil, whereas, he’s been fully paralyzed.Jesus despoiled him and his demons; He dispossessed them! Satan and his cohorts were stripped of their armour and rendered helpless by Jesus. Colossians 2:15 says, "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Jesus made an open show—a spectacle of principalities and powers; what does that mean? It means He paraded Satan and his demons on the canvas as prisoners of war— wounded, beaten and paralyzed.
No wonder He could tell us, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke10:19). His victory was for you. He gave us the victory with which He overcame Satan, and commissioned us to cast out devils in His Name (Mark 16:17). Therefore, no matter what happens around you: in your life, home, family, job, business or in your finances, refuse to fear. Satan has been firmly placed under your feet; live above him.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the courage, boldness, confidence, and faith that your Word infuses to my spirit, as I meditate on it. How thrilling to know that you’ve placed all things, including Satan and his cohorts under my feet! I walk in victory and dominion today, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
