That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3).
1 Corinthians 1:9 says, "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." This is a high calling: to be brought into fellowship with the Lord. It would have been wonderful for us just to be His servants or His favoured creatures, but He chose to bring us into union with Himself. What an honour! To be called into the fellowship of Jesus Christ means we’ve been brought into His class; therefore, we’re now in communion with Him, and participate in His interests. There’re blessings and benefits that accrue as a result of your fellowship with the Lord. One of them is that the Lord identifies Himself with you anywhere you are in this great world, every time, and He’s with you and in you. He cares for you; you’re always on His mind. This should inspire in you a sense of confidence and dominion, to go all out and be a success for Him.
Think about it: you’re in fellowship with the Creator of the Universe; that takes the limits off what you can achieve and how far you can go on the success highway. It means the world belongs to you because you’re in union with the One who owns everything. Hebrews 1:2 tells us that God appointed Jesus to be the heir of all things; and since you’re a joint-heir with Him (Romans 8:17), it means you’ve also been appointed heir of all things.
Therefore, the world belongs to you, because you’re in fellowship with the Monarch of the Universe; you’re one with Him, having received His life! Now, you have His character, and partake of His divinity; His nature of righteousness have been imparted to you! This is what being in Christ—our fellowship with Him—has brought to us! It has made us partakers of His righteousness, sharers of His life, and the beneficiaries as well as the effulgence of His glory.
Confession
I’m complete in Christ Jesus, through whom God has given me wisdom, sanctification, righteousness, and wholesomeness. In Him I live, and move, and have my being; He is the essence of my existence, and my life will forever be to the praise and veneration of His Holy Name. Halleluiah.
