Thought For Today! Be Conscious of the Eternal Life in you!

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11).

Your consciousness of your personality, identity and inheritance affects the way you live; it controls the decisions you make and the things that happen with you and around you. This is why I want to urge you today to be conscious of the divine life of God that’s in you. God wants you to know that you have eternal life, hence you’re not ordinary; He wants you to know what you have and who you are.

Eternal life is not a promise from God that we look forward to Him fulfilling in our lives in the sweet by-and-by. It’s something He’s already given to us FREE! The bible says, “…the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23). That gift has been freely given to everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Eternal life is actually the nature of God; it is the very life that God has. That’s the life that Jesus brought to the world. The vibrant, glorious transcendent life of God in its fullness is what Jesus brought, and that’s what you’ve received into your spirit.

You don’t have to “feel” it in your body first to be conscious that you have eternal life; it’s there in your spirit. That’s why the Apostle John, writing to the Church towards the end of his ministry here on earth thought it necessary to remind God’s children to be conscious that they have eternal life: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life” (1 John 5:1 3). As a born again child of God, the life in you is the miracle-life! It’s incorruptible—it can’t be tainted, defiled or corrupted by sickness, disease, failure, death or the devil; no negative force can withstand you if you live in this consciousness. Glory to God!
