Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10).

As believers in Christ, we’ve been given the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus. If for instance someone comes to you with a request in the name of his boss; an authority figure you recognize, you’ll oblige him, not because of who he is as a messenger, but because of the respect you have for the one in whose name he has come. Even if you don’t like the messenger’s face or attitude, your respect for his boss will compel you to grant his request.
It’s like receiving a document with the authentic seal or signature of someone of high authority. You respond favourably to that document immediately you receive it because you recognize the power and authority of the one whose seal or signature is on it. That seal is an instrument. The Name of Jesus works the same way in the spirit-realm.
Peter understood this when he met the crippled man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. That’s why he said to him "…such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk" (Acts 3:6). He then took the crippled man by the right hand, and lifted him up. The Bible says, immediately, the man’s hitherto crippled feet and ankle bones received strength (Acts 3:7-8). This wasn’t prayer; Peter didn’t make a request to God. He used the Name of Jesus as an instrument.
When God sent Moses to Egypt to lead the Israelites out of bondage, He transformed his shepherd’s rod supernaturally into an instrument of power (Exodus 4:2-5). You have something better than a rod, and that’s the precious Name of Jesus. When you make demands based on the instrumentality of the Name of Jesus, the Lord will see to it that it happens (John 14:14). Never say you don’t have anything; you have the Name of Jesus; a mighty and wonderful instrument—use it!
Confession
Thank you, Father, for the wonderful Name of Jesus that’s better than all things, sweeter than honey and above all, infallible. I use it at all times for all situations, and I relish its astronomic benefits in all things. Amen.
