Get To Know What You Have · Wednesday, August 8th · Pastor Chris

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).

Pastor Chris

The Lord has called us to a life of rest, power and authority. This isn’t an ordinary life; it’s of the God-kind. Many aren’t living this transcendent life because they’re ignorant of it, while others think it’s farfetched. But this is the life we truly have in Christ.

If you were to ask a group of Christians, "What would you like the Lord to do for you?" I’m sure the response would be as varied as the number of people. But the important question to ask rather is, "What has the Lord not already done for you?" If you would get the picture of what He’s already done, you’d be amazed at how wonderful your life will be.

That a man is suffering and things aren’t working out for him doesn’t mean God hasn’t blessed him. So why is he suffering then? Ignorance! The Bible says, "My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge..." (Hosea 4:6). Another reason is unbelief. The Bible tells us how Jesus went to Nazareth to minister but couldn’t perform great miracles there, due to their unbelief. He marvelled at their unbelief, which short-circuited His power (Mark 6:6). The power was available, but the people didn’t believe to receive.

When the Word talks about receiving from the Lord, the word often used is the Greek word "lambano," which means to take a hold of something; to catch something and make it yours. When God gives you healing for example, you must take it or catch it. You must apprehend it for yourself. You can’t say, "It will happen in God’s time"; the time is NOW (2 Corinthians 6:2). Otherwise, you may just watch all the glorious blessings of God elude you. Get to know and apprehend all that the Lord has already done for you as revealed in His Word.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for all that you’ve made available to me in Christ Jesus; I declare that all things are mine; and I’m living in the reality of who I am in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
