The Believing Ones Enter His Rest!

“Therefore since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For we who believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “so I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest.” Although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts” (Heb 4:1,3,7 and 9).

What God is saying in these verses is not the eternal rest. There is eternal rest for His people. But what God is saying here is about experiencing His rest on earth! Verse 10 says, “for he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

If you are walking in weariness, frustration and stress; then you have not enter His rest is as simple as that. He who has entered His rest has also ceased; means free from anxieties, fear, stress and worries. Jesus gave us life abundance in order for us to enjoy our life everyday. If you see the life of Jesus on earth, He lived a sound and peaceful life! He lived a worry-free and peaceful life in the midst of opposition and persecution. In fact Jesus Himself said, “why do you worry?” Jesus said in Mat 11:28, “come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest, I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.”

Let us therefore, believe and appropriate these promises in our life and walk free of anxieties, worries, fear and frustrations. We are the children of God to believe Him and cast all our cares upon Him and enjoy the rest He gives us. Let His peace rule, guard our heats and minds.

There is also a warning in Heb 3:7 and 8, “therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion in the day of testing and in the wilderness. Verse 12, “therefore beware brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart (which refuses to cleave to, trust in and rely on Him), leading you to turn away and desert from the living God.”

What we understood from this passage is ‘unbelief’ provokes God! It never pleases Him. We are walking in unbelief if we are walking in fear, weariness and worries. We are not trust Him with our life! Today God is inviting you to His presence for He wants to carry your burdens and pains and give you rest. He wanted to minister to refresh your soul. Believe and walk into His presence and leave all your cares with Him. You have a peaceful and restful day today! God bless.
