Wait! Hope! And Expect the Lord!
“Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).
In today’s world the technolgy is growing so fast that we can get anything done easily and quickly. Taking the kitchen appliances for example, ancient kitchens are reformed with microwaves, blenders, food processors etc. We get instant noodles and coffee, you name it! I thank God for these new inventions. On the other hand, there are disadvantages too. We are so used with these ‘instant lifestyles” and become so lazy. In conclusion, we removed the words ‘waiting’ or ‘patience’ from our dictionary. We show the same attitude to God too! We want God to do a ‘quick-fix’, and give us instant answers for our prayers. When we don’t get quick answers, we find a shortcut to get one. I mean, we fix it for God!
God’s Kingdom never function that way! God knows what is best for His children. He shows up on time, even if He doesn’t show up it is for a good purpose only. His works are perfect. He is faithful in all His ways! He is faithful to keep His word! You can count on Him!
God is telling us today to Wait for Him, Hope for Him and Expect Him in your very difficult situation or crisis you are going through. If you have already prayed about it and cast all your cares upon Him then: wait for Him to show up in your crisis. While waiting don’t grumble or reason or question God! Our attitudes does matter! Grow in the knowledge of Him. Keep your attitude straight! Praise Him and worship Him while you are wait for Him. Hope for Him! Bible says: Heb 10:23, “so let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Keep confessing that promise God gave you right in your situation. Don’t say anything contrary to what He has promised you. Period! For He is faithful. Our hopes will not be disappointed (Rom 5:5), your hope will not be cut off (Prov 23:18). Expect the Lord to show up in your situation! Sometimes we even forget what we prayed for! God not only listens to our prayers of His children also He remembers and answers our prayers (Psalm 34:15). King David said in Psalm 56:8, “you number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book?” He got a record for all things! That is amazing! Don’t ever under estimate His divine delays! Wait for, Hope for and Expect the Lord! He who promised is Faithful!
Confess: GOD IS FAITHFUL TO PERFORM WHAT HE HAS PROMISED IN MY LIFE! AS I WAIT, I WILL KEEP THANK HIM, PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM FOR HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED! HE IS ALWAYS GOOD! HE KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR ME! I EXPECT A MIRACLE TODAY! IN JESUS NAME. Amen.
