…And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:1-2).
Have you ever felt condemned because you remembered something you did wrong for which you thought God was mad at you? Perhaps you were praying, then suddenly, your shoulders dropped, and you felt downcast because you remembered something wrong that you did just the day before. If this ever happens to you don’t despair; confess your sin to the Lord and obtain his forgiveness.
1 John 4:16 gives us a description of our heavenly father; He is love; He’s not judgment: "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love...." In Jeremiah 31:3, He reiterates His loving heart and affectionate disposition towards you: "...Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee."
Quit all struggles and take advantage of God’s unconditional love for you. You may have made mistakes or lived a very terrible life, but you can embrace the Father’s love today. All you need is to repent and say, "Lord, forgive me." Once you repent and ask His forgiveness, He receives you and establishes you in the right path.
God never looks out for your faults so He can punish you; He’s too loving for that! Rather, He follows you with His tender mercies. Get to know and understand His loving nature and you’ll be joyful always in His presence. God loves you; acknowledge this truth in your spirit; let the thoughts of His love fill your heart today, and always.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the fellowship of your Spirit which I richly enjoy. I thank you for showing me the path of life, and making provision for me to live free of guilt and condemnation. I acknowledge and take advantage of your grace, mercy and love, and the intercessory ministry of Christ in my behalf today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
